This has been a crazy crazy week!</div></span></span><div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"></span><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">The shot went into blocking. Did a very rough pass on Monday. The clock in the shot somehow didn't seem to work. I didn't wanna have the whole shot rely on the clock either, so scraped it out. Still something about the shot wasn't working the way I would want it to, and I couldn't put a finger on it. When working on an idea I usually am absolutely stoked about it, all through till the very end. For this one, that excitement just wasn't coming. I talked to my mentor and also discussed about my option of changing the idea to which he consented. I came up with more ideas but then that's it. I planned and planned a couple, did some drawings and thumbnails! But that didn't really do much for my motivation on the mime. I Learn a lesson. NEVER EVER change your idea. Once you've decided on it, go with it - No matter what. You'd rather </span></span><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3333FF;">make the IDEA work</span></span></span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"> than change the idea altogether after u finish planning it.</span></span></div><div><div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><div><div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"> </span></span><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Well, so that's what I did and I like what came out of it so far. Been working on the shot and did loads of passes on it all week and I've started to like it now (Still pushing it tho). It is still in Stepped, but almost ready to be polished and refined in Splines next week on.... (or so I would like to think). Got criticisms and suggestions from some friends at school and that helped. Its not even close to perfect yet but its something. :)</span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#333333;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Week 3- Blocking in Stepped</span></span></span></b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-weight: bold; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><embed src="http://sheebakukreja.com/pmime.mov" style="width:490px; height:380px;"></embed></span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#333333;"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></b></span></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">This is still in stepped but I'll now take it to Splines or Plateau next week. (I think Plateau might save my life tho) I plan to put delicate stuff on the shelves that will smash into pieces as the shelves tumble down. But I'll do that in the very end, once I have nailed down the animation on our lill guy here ! :)</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Still working on pushing this shot before I jump into next week but might not get the whole weekend to do it [ driving out of town with the fam :) ]. But that's cool. My shot is pretty much alright to go into splines next week on, for the polishing and refining. I've got in sufficient amount of main keys and breakdowns (in-betweens) on 4's (and even 2's where needed). I worked the "<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3333FF;"><b>copy-pair</b></span>" way when blocking this shot out this time. I've held poses for a good number of frames where we needed holds and delays, for a nice texture in timing, just so they don't go all over the place on the timing, when I convert them to splines in the graph editor. </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">I handed this in already but will keep tweaking it tomorrow as well.</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">And then I go POLISHING the shot next week on! *WOOOOT* Really fun stuff !!!!! I love how things are going now... been busy but now things are working on this shot so its good. Two more weeks on this shot and then off to a new one... its a one person dialog shot then ! got to watch a lot of movies and get some nice dramatic dialogs to choose from, for the acting dialog piece that we start in week 6 ! should be fun again! :) but can't get distracted thinking about that now ! Got to focus and walk that extra mile on this one!</span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">I'll get back with a well refined version of this shot in two weeks now then! </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:verdana, serif;">Blogging off!</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Adios ! :) </span></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Sheeba Kukrejahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13512765845197035301noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851879718628439235.post-29495989642075622132010-04-08T20:01:00.043+01:002010-04-10T02:59:01.614+01:00Before taking the plunge<div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:verdana, serif;">Right ! new refrence videos shot, picked and edited, New thumbnails done</span></div><div style="text-align: left; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:verdana, serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;">A good amount of brainstorming all day, gave me a lot to play with. It is so important to plan the shot well, Glad my mentor gave me direction on how to think about the attitude and personality of the character before we jump into maya. The timing or the allotment of frames to each action, is based on my perception of how long a task would normally take. Once I get the blocking done in Maya, I plan to play around with the timing of when things happen in the shot, to give it a nice texture! He likes my Idea and thinks its going to be lots of fun to work on! </span></span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">He had some brilliant suggestions there though, as far as the thought process goes into the shot and the staging. He suggests I have the camera placed at a quarter angle and maybe even pan the camera down a bit, rather than having stand "Straight on dead center" , like I have it in the thumbnails. Think that makes sense as it would help the audience read the shot better when he picks up the ornament and puts it down and all the gestures in between those would read clearly too.</span></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">So I guess that would look something like this :</span></span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHTqfRfDJO4kOvlVUweW-Q6ZsQGSsDkoi2J8wAWdOhfc4unYh9rHdS48ul34SEV_OSSe1g1N_420BPfYCsRcP9p_AfmWe9-ke42Nuen8dLpSuFSwxwbCqUyRekm2VeUjaHhlKwfFYzr2k/s1600/thumbnail+3.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHTqfRfDJO4kOvlVUweW-Q6ZsQGSsDkoi2J8wAWdOhfc4unYh9rHdS48ul34SEV_OSSe1g1N_420BPfYCsRcP9p_AfmWe9-ke42Nuen8dLpSuFSwxwbCqUyRekm2VeUjaHhlKwfFYzr2k/s400/thumbnail+3.jpg" /></a></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#000000;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHTqfRfDJO4kOvlVUweW-Q6ZsQGSsDkoi2J8wAWdOhfc4unYh9rHdS48ul34SEV_OSSe1g1N_420BPfYCsRcP9p_AfmWe9-ke42Nuen8dLpSuFSwxwbCqUyRekm2VeUjaHhlKwfFYzr2k/s1600/thumbnail+3.jpg"></a><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:verdana, serif;font-size:small;"><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#333333;">(just quick shabby rough drawings, to experiment what works)</span></i></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><i><br /></i></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">Jamy said <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#009900;"><b>I should think deeper, about what </b></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#009900;"><b>Stewie</b></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#009900;"><b> feels all through it. Jamy suggested that I convey the attitude right in the beginning so that we see his personality right off as he starts looking around or picking the ornament.<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#009900;"><b>He felt it also might be worthwhile to try and get a natural reaction as the Shelf falls behind him, by having a friend drop off a big shelf or object right by me, when filming the reference ... and notice how I react. Agggh! hate when things like that happen. De-motivates u to the core. Hate it, hate it, hate it. My GeForce burnt out on the Alien-ware and it wouldn't work again. I couldn't restart the laptop and would have LOST almost everything on there had I not taken the backups on my WD. phew! so that was good. It was a bit overwhelming to start with and to be honest, I felt kinda lost in the curves and splines ! but i think I'm already getting the feel of it and I should be more comfortable with the Graph Editor the more I work on it now on ! :)<br /><br />Right! on the assignment ... this is what I submitted for this week<br /><br /></span></span></span><span style="font-weight: bold; The lectures are awesome ! With so many examples and so much stuff it all makes so much sense. This week's lecture sorta answered so many of my basic questions that I've been wanting to know answers to! Questions like Pose to pose, straight Ahead or Layered? which one?? that's been One big question mark for me always. But I think I'm starting to understand the concepts a lot better now. Everything seems to fall into place with this weeks lecture.. its awesome! Totally ! Its just going to need a lot of practice on my end before I have it at the back of my head and on the tip of my fingers!! :)<br /><br />Based on the Lecture, we got our assignment which is pretty much to re create that movement of a bouncing basket ball with a lot more exaggeration and using the principles that can apply to it so far ! and also of course a few more posing to do which is great 'cuz that's giving me a sense of identifying strong posing (for keying strong poses in Maya in the coming weeks and months) and it helps me learn to communicate an emotion in just one drawing which is awesome I think!<br /><br />I so feel it to be the right place for me! I am learning a lot and loving every bit of it! Have my <span style="font-weight: bold;">Q n A</span> for this week on Wednesday at 7 pm and am quite looking forward to it with questions I have for my mentor ! :)<br /><br />Blogging of for now!<br /><br />Sheeba XxSheeba Kukrejahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13512765845197035301noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851879718628439235.post-41183164637934607822009-01-18T14:39:00.007+00:002009-01-20T10:22:00.363+00:00The Last leg of Week 2 !<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihj3szmJ7Ccsb5vFta0MOxJQBeWmQIz4ARb23CdaEGOihJO3hPgVCMpL_sv5shQ4NtzT0Ng2RA0TnQKzsY7BsHA4uv5_xdZY39l6xNeXPhPp53pQ7AQlPDBnxQQBFDo-v7nQnfXfgtBm8/s1600-h/Stuprop.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 121px; height: 98px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihj3szmJ7Ccsb5vFta0MOxJQBeWmQIz4ARb23CdaEGOihJO3hPgVCMpL_sv5shQ4NtzT0Ng2RA0TnQKzsY7BsHA4uv5_xdZY39l6xNeXPhPp53pQ7AQlPDBnxQQBFDo-v7nQnfXfgtBm8/s200/Stuprop.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292945905775387458" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNA8SD7OE5ZQd-XWXYAMXX1q7R2hob2-ArbBHbW3aA6BnGhtz5wjX53KIkQU4PCTSr6c9lQs1I7hlyRbPhFdBpCWxVUwiDDn1KbYS5rOUD8tkgfGUgMpW17_T2xnxeYD4ugsvMemzvw5s/s1600-h/s4.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 122px; height: 91px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNA8SD7OE5ZQd-XWXYAMXX1q7R2hob2-ArbBHbW3aA6BnGhtz5wjX53KIkQU4PCTSr6c9lQs1I7hlyRbPhFdBpCWxVUwiDDn1KbYS5rOUD8tkgfGUgMpW17_T2xnxeYD4ugsvMemzvw5s/s200/s4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292944547175783074" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA5tLoKIQ2ipvPOmDnjyiLKpjyChd1obrtjqxyCm7g269q4VPjvnjj52DgE3ofqHnMicKQWIwzMdHEPwnTygWYwkj_7nMdo4cN202t1QnrLs7kTKUOhZkthZpkhN5u-EpbPQ91xt2K-lc/s1600-h/S2.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 111px; height: 83px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA5tLoKIQ2ipvPOmDnjyiLKpjyChd1obrtjqxyCm7g269q4VPjvnjj52DgE3ofqHnMicKQWIwzMdHEPwnTygWYwkj_7nMdo4cN202t1QnrLs7kTKUOhZkthZpkhN5u-EpbPQ91xt2K-lc/s200/S2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292944413666948322" border="0" /></a> <br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;font-size:78%;" >Click image to enlarge</span><br /><div style="text-align: justify;">There are a few of the versions I've been working on ... but I dint risk re-submitting my work yesterday cuz the internet connection was rubbish and I didn't wanna risk getting stuck uploading the file, and getting a Penalty of one lower grade! It sure needs a lot more tweaking I think but not sure what exactly right now...! Stu can get much better at proposing than that still tho !<br /><br />I am meeting up a Friend who studied 3D Animation like me, at the University of Kent an year after me and is now a term ahead of me at AM. Small world init? eagerly looking forward to that ! and then I'm gonna have my classmates coming into town for a small sorta get together/catching up in the evening ! so that should be fun too i guess ! :)<br /><br />But I'm gonna work on getting Stu to propose even better so all he gets is a "yes" as an answer :) and me a good grade in the pursuit ! hehe<br /><br />So looking forward to start Animating from next week onwards ! :)<br /><br />Blogging off for now !<br /><br />Sheeba. I wanted to do some more but was very surprised to know that people liked a couple of 'em for Stu to Personify. Since I got a so many votes for Stu to propose, I decided to go with it (I was very tempted with this one anyway) ! :)<br /><br />Right, so I've a few versions of the pose here but not sure which one is the strongest so far....or if there even is that ONE strong pose among these et all ! If u have more suggestions or criticisms on the way his legs are posed or arms , torso, head what ever...... I soo wanna hear them all ! :) would be very helpful !<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dw-VI_iqK7vgiySXq4_tMuyYUIqSOsB_aHT0VkrxVNEdQYxS89pyyAhoFGLrn_gBJMjyaZY87LMM1M-2nDOHg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Cheers !<br /></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Sheeba Kukrejahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13512765845197035301noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851879718628439235.post-89572623736180541182009-01-14T21:35:00.005+00:002009-01-15T18:48:28.953+00:00AM, Week 2 : Sketching and Posing !<div style="text-align: justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;" >We moved into Week 2 of Animation Mentor and its been a blast. I totally love it. I'm surprised I didn't quite understand what line of action meant before this and all the principles are explained really well with awesome examples. Just in the last one week I've learned sooo much not just from my mentor Mario, but also from my batch mates, classmates and seniors that I didn't learn in the One year of MSc. A lot of things have come up very new to me. I am so in the right place... and highly motivated!!<br /><br />Right ! We got our first assignment for this week to sketch poses and then personifying a character to one of the poses....! I have been sketching and noticing people in cafe's bookshops, stores, liabrary, the high streets, almost everywhere really and have bumped into a lot many people staring at me awkwardly sometimes when i try n quickly line draw some of em... haha its funny tho! But its all good. I have some poses sketched really quick so these are more line drawings done in about 2 seconds each to get the idea of the line of action in a pose. so these aint the best of drawings or nething but I think they do tell u what's really happening. I am uploading some here right now but am not yet satisfied with any of em so i guess im gonna take another shot at posing sketches tonight !<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dy7jzUHbmVtJGuW6Jz5ZVFquh4exTr6YuH5NVDap1i03bqpsA8VpVNdSSQHrUxsexkmJAWVY1cmfoU6JVRNMg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Will be able to upload some more drawings tomorrow hopefully !<br /><br />Cheers !<br /></div></div><br /></span></div>Sheeba Kukrejahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13512765845197035301noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851879718628439235.post-27583162269810660112009-01-09T13:40:00.005+00:002009-01-14T22:08:14.127+00:00Reel 2008<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='296' height='243' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dw9_g5mnDA9VQrYwOD-w9rlEbLNtA9wLSOxKazqaSu3KKjYeVM446QmQ2mxmcpPp4TcfW-0oEaAAs4AF4-psw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;" ><br />I thought of posting my current show reel here for everyone. The Land of elephants, is famous for the Taj Mahal, Indian Curries and Masalas, the famous "Balti Chicken" , </span><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"> Bollywood - </span><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;">the 2nd largest film industry in the world (next to Hollywood) and much more ! I was born in a city called Chandigarh, about a 155 miles north of New Delhi (The capital city of India).</span><br /><br /><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;">I always liked to draw and sketch and write poetry and stuff...was never academically inclined. Books did not fascinate me. People always said how important it was to get a good score in high school to be able to go to uni, make a career. But it had to come from within ! It couldn't until I knew what I wanted in life. I knew it from the very start I was not meant to be a Doctor or an Engineer or anywhere near. It had to be something more than that, something more practical... something that I would enjoy doing from within my heart. Tom and Jerry, The Jungle Book, all of the Walt Disney Fairy tales fascinated me but they didn't ring my bells ! I didn't know what it was for me....not until (amongst movies like Toy Story, Final Fantasy, Monsters Inc., Dinosaur, etc... around), <span style="font-weight: bold;">Dreamworks</span> released <span style="font-weight: bold;">Shrek</span> in 2001. I was totally blown away ! It sure was a "jaw dropping" experience for me! It changed my life. I knew I had to be one of 'em.... animating! Everything fell into place..... my hand at drawings, writing short stories and poetry.... everything made sense... it all pointed towards one direction!!</span><br /><br /><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;">Thanks to God, Mum and Dad, I got the opportunity to do an MSc. in 3D Computer Animation .....and there has been no looking back ever since ! =)</span><br /><br /><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;">I feel like the chosen one ... I really do. I feel like I was destined to Animate, I don't mean to make it sound cheesy but there is nothing better I can do with my life. I am passionate about animating and strive to be better at it with each passing day... and get a wee bit closer to that dream job. Hence AM !</span><br /><br /><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 153);">Breathing life into characters is something that I am truly passionate about .... the passion took some time to unveil but its here now ..... to stay for ever ! =)</span></span></div>Sheeba Kukrejahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13512765845197035301noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851879718628439235.post-14669711010581950142008-12-25T14:42:00.004+00:002008-12-25T20:31:04.049+00:00<div style="text-align: justify;font-family:times new roman;"><span style=";font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;" >Hi Folks!<br /><br />Right, this is my first eva at Blogging,...
